During our recent trip to Dublin, Ireland, thanks to our friend’s recommendation we stumbled into a hidden gem – quite literally! – called the Vintage Cocktail Club, or VCC. Tucked away behind an unmarked door (look for the bell!) in the Temple Bar district, this speakeasy-style bar offers a truly unique experience.
Stepping inside is like stepping back in time. The dimly lit, intimate space is filled with vintage furniture, creating a wonderfully atmospheric setting. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine yourself in a classic film noir.
We settled into a cozy corner and perused the extensive cocktail menu. The mixologists here are clearly passionate about their craft, creating innovative and expertly crafted drinks. We each ordered a different cocktail and were impressed by the complex flavors and beautiful presentation. We also enjoyed a small appetizer, which was tasty and well-prepared.
However, we quickly realized that while the VCC is perfect for pre- or post-dinner drinks and light bites, it’s not really geared towards a full meal. The focus is definitely on the cocktails and the ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a sophisticated evening of conversation and expertly mixed drinks.
If you’re looking for a memorable and unique drinking experience in Dublin, the VCC is a must-visit. Just remember to ring the bell, embrace the vintage vibe, and prepare to be impressed by their exceptional cocktails. We’d highly recommend it for a pre-dinner aperitif or a late-nightcap, but plan on dining elsewhere if you’re looking for a substantial meal.
